The entire Midwest is EXPERIENCING A SEVERE PROPANE SHORTAGE, including Wisconsin. Because of the shortage, please take the following steps if heating your home with propane:
*Contact your propane vendor when your tank reaches 30% full. Because of the limited propane supply, propane vendors are not able to fill tanks completely right now. They also need more advance notice on delivering propane to your home since there is a high demand for the heating fuel. If you wait to call until after your tank is below 30%, you may not be able to get propane delivered before your tank runs out.
* Apply for heating assistance, if you have not already. If you have not yet applied for heating assistance, you can contact your county social service office or tribal government. You can also call toll-free 1-866-HEATWIS (432-8947) or visit www.homeenergyplus.wi.gov about where to apply for heating assistance through the WHEAP program.
Connecting by Phone to CCCW:
CCCW has been experiencing some challenges in fully integrating its new phone system in the northwest Wisconsin expansion area. We recognize that some callers have had difficulty in reaching staff within the organization, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Over the last week, we have added additional resources to support efforts that assure calls are received and appropriately routed to staff.
We expect to have these issues fully resolved in the very near future. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition process.
If you should have difficulty reaching a CCCW staff member, please call our toll free number at 1-877-622-6700, or our Rice Lake office at 715-544-8800. CCCW staff answering those lines will be happy to direct your call to the appropriate party.
